1. What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser Hair Removal is a procedure designed to remove hair from the body by using a long pulse laser. The laser removes hair by causing selective and localized damage by selectively heating melanin, in the hair follicle, while not heating the rest of the skin.
Laser Hair Removal selectively targets melanin, which occurs naturally in the skin and gives skin and hair its color. Because of selective absorption of photons of laser light, only black or brown hair can be removed. Light skin and dark hair are an ideal combination, but new lasers are now able to target dark black hair even in patients with dark skin. The laser parameters are carefully defined by studying the anatomy of hair follicle and precisely matching the laser light and pulse duration to the follicle size, depth and location to inhibit the re-growth of the hair.
2. Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?
Laser Hair Removal has been approved by the FDA for “permanent hair reduction.” Permanent hair reduction means a long term and stable reduction in the number of hairs re-growing after a series of treatments.
3. Does Laser Hair Removal require more than one session?
Laser Hair Removal works by disabling hairs that are in their active growth cycle at the time of treatment. Since not all hairs will be in their growth cycle at the time of the treatment, several treatments are necessary to disable all the follicles in a given area. A set of 6 to 8 treatments at specified intervals is necessary to achieve substantial hair removal with laser. Factors that determine the length of treatment include: the area being treated, the texture of the hair, frequency of treatments, the history of previous measures to remove hair (waxing, tweezing, shaving and depilatories), ethnicity, and certain health conditions.
4. Who is the candidate for Laser Hair Removal?
Laser Hair Removal is beneficial to both men and women in the quest of hair free skin. Laser Hair removal works best on pale skin and dark coarse hair, however new lasers work on brown or black hair on any skin type. Alexandrite long pulse and diode types of lasers work best on light colored skin. Nd:YAG long pulse lasers are better and safer on darker skin. Since laser works by being attracted to and targeting the dark pigment, using an Alexandrite or diode laser on darker skin can result in burning or loss of skin pigment (hypo-pigmentation). Long pulse Nd: YAG lasers were created to cater to dark-skinned patients, so they are safer on the skin at settings that actually affect the hair than alexandrite and diode lasers. When choosing your Laser Hair Removal options, make safety, health and results your priority.
5. How does Laser Hair Removal work?
Lasers designed for permanent hair reduction emit wavelength of light that can be absorbed by the pigment in the hair (melanin). The energy of the laser is concentrated in the hair shaft, effectively destroying it without affecting the skin or follicle. The ability of the laser to produce a very narrow bandwidth on a consistent basis is the key to safe efficient treatment. The types of lasers used in permanent hair reduction include; Nd-YAG, diode and alexandrite. While the laser emits a beam that only heats the hair shaft, heat is transmitted from the hair shaft to the surrounding tissue for several milliseconds after the laser pulse. New lasers possess cooling attachments which cool the surrounding skin to fully absorb any heat transmitted from the destroyed hair shaft.
Be aware that hair removal systems that use traditional light treatment (Intense Pulse Light or IPLs) are not true hair removal lasers. These devices use a highly concentrated beam of traditional incoherent light, often in conjunction with a cream or gel, to burn the hair shaft. These devices lack the laser’s ability to produce a selective bandwidth of light that will only affect the hair shaft. They produce a wide bandwidth of light that can heat up all of the surrounding tissue. IPLs are cheaper devices and are used for various skin procedures first and foremost, with hair removal as their secondary function. Judging from consumer feedback, true lasers achieve better and faster results for hair removal purposes.
6. What should I expect before and after treatment?
You need to shave the area being treated 1-3 days prior to the treatment. No waxing or removing hair with the root in any other way is allowed throughout the course of treatment as hair needs to be in place to be targeted by the laser. The area should be shaved as closely as possible so that laser can target the most energy towards the hair follicle and not waste energy on the part of the hair above the skin’s surface. If your hair is the type that you can’t see where it was right after you shave, make it a bit easier on the laser technician not to miss the spots you want treated by shaving 3 days before so the outline of where the hair is growing is just very slightly visible.
After treatment is completed, you should apply aloe vera to soothe the skin for a few days. Within 1 to 3 weeks, you should experience shedding of all treated hair. At first, hair will look like it is growing back in, but it is just coming through the skin to shed. Shedding starts at about 1.5 weeks and can last until 3 weeks post-treatment. Exfoliating and scrubbing gently in the shower with a loofa can help speed the process. After shedding occurs, you should experience a hair-free period, until next set of hair that was dormant before starts to come in and you are due for your next treatment. You will continue this process until you reach diminishing returns and the remaining hairs are too fine for laser to target, or until you have reached your desired reduction.
7. How many treatments will I need and how far apart are they scheduled?
Most people need at least 6 to 8 sessions every 4 to 6 weeks apart to start and gradually move to 8-10 weeks apart.
8. Is Laser Hair Removal painful?
Everyone’s pain threshold is different, but generally laser hair removal in not much more painful than waxing, but the sensation is different. It resembles a rubber band snapping against the skin for a quick second with each pulse. Most people do not require an anesthetic cream, but one may be used for very sensitive patients/areas. Be aware that using anesthetic creams is only safe on small areas (like lip, bikini, underarms) and in small quantities. Using it on large areas like the back can cause adverse effects or even death.
9. What are the possible risks and side effects of Laser Hair Removal?
The possibility exists that some side effects or complications can occur given various variables, including: itching, redness for up to 3 days, swelling for up to 3 days, tingling or feeling of numbness, crusting/scab formation, bruising, temporary pigment change (hypo-pigmentation or hyper-pigmentation) and infection. Side effects occur infrequently and as a rule, generally are temporary. If any of the above last for more than 3 days, make sure to contact your laser technician.
10. What are the possible causes of excessive hair growth and how can it affect my treatment?
The causes of excessive hair growth pattern are many and varied, including:
hereditary, pregnancy, glandular and or hormonal imbalances (possible PCOS condition for women), insulin resistance issues, reactions to certain medications, normal aging processes, excessive temporary removal methods like waxing, tweezing, creams and depilatories etc.
Every laser candidate with extreme hair growth should explore a possible underlying reason of hair growth before starting laser. If there is something in the body consistently triggering hair growth; laser treatments might seem ineffective because the body will keep developing new hair. Talk to your doctor if you suspect you might have an underlying medical condition causing excessive hair growth before starting laser hair removal. Once the condition is controlled through treatment/medication, laser hair removal can then be performed.
11. What should I look for when choosing a Laser Hair Removal clinic?
Make sure you go in for a free consultation to see if you are happy with the way the clinic looks and feels (clean, up-to-date and informative) and avoid being pressured by sales reps to sign in on the spot clinics). It is recommended that during the consultation an interest in your personal results is the main interest and goal and not how much you will be paying.
The person performing your treatment should have an extensive experience and knowledge of laser hair removal. Do your research prior to your consultation and ask a lot of questions based on that research. Keep in mind that whether a person treating you is an MD or a laser technician does not reflect their laser hair removal skills. Hair removal skills are not taught in medical schools, what you should look for is a specific knowledge and experience in laser hair removal.
The laser used during your treatment should be the best for your skin and hair type. Do not fall for the hype of the newest product. Technically all lasers can be used on all skin and hair types. Your goal should be a clinic that will perform your treatments with a laser that will produce the best results on your skin and hair type.
12. How much does Laser Hair Removal cost?
Prices for the treatments vary from clinic to clinic. Payment plans, packages and discounts are offered to make the process affordable to almost everyone.
13. What to avoid before Laser Hair Removal session?
Laser Hair Removal should not be performed on tanned skin. If the skin has a tan it should not be a fresh one. Performing the treatment when the treated are is tanned makes the procedure less effective and skin irritation is more likely to occur.
Certain prescription drugs that make the patient more photo sensitive, such as Tetracycline and Doxycycline, can increase the risk of abnormal reactions of the skin to the laser light. These drugs are often used in treating acne, depression and epilepsy.
14. Does Laser Hair Removal help with anything else?
Anyone suffering with in-grown hairs should complete a series of laser hair removal treatments. The inflammation, infection and discoloration will be stopped by eliminating the cause of the problem-hair.
15. Does Laser Hair Removal guarantee the same results for everyone?
The same results can’t be guaranteed to everyone. On average, laser hair removal will permanently reduce the hair growth in the treated area by 70 to 90 percent. However, it will be determined during your initial consultation what kind of results are to be expected.
16. Is there a “life time guarantee” with Laser Hair Removal treatments?
No. In recent years “life time guaranteed” treatments did flood the market. However, they do not specify whose life? Is it the life of the device, laser technician, or customer? Usually it is the life of the business and the cost of the “unlimited” sessions comes from the pockets of the customers.
It is impossible to guarantee that new hair will not grow in the areas being currently treated. The body chemistry and hormonal fluctuations can affect the “permanency” of the treatment. Always keep in mind that laser hair removal by definition is “permanent hair reduction” not “permanent hair removal.” Ask for real results not empty promises.

While I write this post, the outside temperature is “humid” 95 degrees.
The inside temperature in my office is “sweating” 90 degrees.
I do not know about you but I am barely stopping myself from removing all of my clothes off.
What is stopping me, except the fact that I do think that I will lose just a bit of respect from my clients and employees, once they see my naked body trying to be “business as usual” while exposing all of my “bits and pieces?”
Except that, not much. No worries about cellulite. No worries about extra pounds. And definitely no worries about excess hair.
I can show it all off without the worry of looking like a cave-woman-come -to-life. If anything, laser hair removal has me looking more like Raquel Welch in “One Million Years B.C.”, than Lucy the-ape-woman.
Am I grateful I had the procedure? You bet.
As the temperature in the city is getting hotter and hotter. As the summer is in full bloom and the summer fun in full swing. As the fashion on the streets, in the parks and even in the offices is definitely more “show -off-more-with-less”, than “keep-them-guessing-with-multi-layers”-I feel comfortable in my silky smooth skin.
I don’t know about you but I feel confidant when I look natural but polished. I like to look clean and flawless. And yes I do think hair (unless it’s on your head, lashes and brows) is a flaw. So shoot me!
I do think mother nature needs to forget about keeping us warm with a layer of fur. After all we are experiencing Global Warming and have a medley of great “cover-ups” by the likes of Dior, Armani, Gucci and the rest of the fashion geniuses. Furs included.
I will take a beautiful mink fur coat (real or faux) over my own “peach fuzz” any day. I would like to hear one lady that disagrees.
I feel and look (yes, I am going to brag) so great that I can’t imagine why anyone would still shave (ouch! the stubble), wax (do I still have skin left?) or remain ” au natural.”
Laser hair removal gives you smooth, hair free skin for years to come.
In just 8 to 12 sessions you can virtually eliminate at least 80 percent of all the hair on your body. If you want. But why wouldn’t you?
The advances in laser technology allow all skin colors to be treated safely and effectively. All hair colors except light blond and gray can be treated and the treatment is pretty much pain-free. Expect slight discomfort but nothing torturous.
Look forward to shaving less and less with each progressing session (you are not allowed to wax or tweeze, as the laser is attracted to the pigment in the hair, that needs to be present in the hair follicle).
Look forward to saying “good-bye” to ingrowns, stubble and waiting for the hair to regrow to that dreadful ”1/4 of an inch” (every lady that waxes knows what I am talking about).
Look forward to smooth, bump free bikini. Your smoothest legs ever and underarms that you can proudly show off to the world.
Ladies that are battling excess facial hair, do not have to suffer the embarrassment and loss of confidence. They will be able to finally control and manage those pesky hairs that make them feel less than their absolute best. They will be able to feel comfortable even up close and be ready for the summer, fall, winter or spring kiss. Anywhere and anytime.
If I were to describe what laser hair removal gave me, except the cliché of repeated phrases of: confidence, beauty and great smooth skin all over my body, it would be SPONTANEITY.
I am game for it all, all the time.
Life brings us so many hurdles along the way, as we fulfill our dreams, that few or more unwanted hair should not be another reason for us not to experience our life to the fullest.
Invest a little time and a little cash for the “small-thing-that-will-make-a-big-difference”-laser hair removal.
You will thank me.
While you run to the best laser hair removal center or medical spa in your area (Sensitive Touch Medical Spa anyone?), I will be sitting in my office.
In 90 degree heat, with sweat dripping from every inch of my body. Drinking gallons of water. Counting the minutes till I can go home and take a cold shower.
In the mean time, sweating or not …I look hot!
Do you have the silky and sexy body I’ve got?

Everyone needs a little bit of magic.
If you are a living, breathing human being, then your skin is in constant need of one potion or other that will make the current problem de jour disappear.
Whether you are tormented by acne, discoloration, redness, wrinkles, saggy skin or all of the above; your quest for the solution that will be a revolution in your daily skin regimen is an ongoing affair.
You had long-term relationships with a few skin care products that were your “skin-mates” in the past, but you out-grew each other.
You dated on and off few of the ”skin-match made at the cosmetic’s counter heaven”, but the magic fizzled after a month or two.
You even had a dozen or so, one night stands, with ” the hottest skin thing”, that lets just say did not live up to the promise of “rocking your world.”
What is a girl or boy to do?
Give up? Learn to love ” the skin you are in”?
You are not a quitter. Nor are you a cheesy TV ad.
You have to start to believe in a little bit of magic. Serum Magic.
Serums are the magic potions that will turn your frown upside down, and your less than desirable complexion into pure perfection.
What? How? When? Why? You ask.
Lets start at the very beginning.
Once a upon a time, in a laboratory far away…
…scientist formulated potent ingredients into tiny molecules.
After many, many trials, a potion was created that they called-SERUM.
Lightweight and similar in texture to gel or oil, serums can tackle just about any beauty concern. They are essentially a vehicle for delivering antioxidants, peptides, vitamins, retinol and other anti-aging ingredients into the skin. They are looser than creams or ointments, which allows them to absorb faster and better. Serum’s molecules are small enough to penetrate deep within the skin. The deeper the ingredients are delivered, the quicker the result.
The most potent ingredients in serums are:
-exfoliators-lactic and glycolic acids to remove dead skin.
-antioxidants-the efficient delivery system in serums infuses the skin with radical fighting benefits.
-vitamins-A, C, and E are used for their antioxidant properties.
-skin brighteners-willow bark extract and rose address dull looking skin.
-hyaluronic acid-stimulates new cell growth
-peptides and growth factors-water soluble with ability to ward of signs of aging.
Serums are great for anyone with oily or acne prone skin, since they don’t clog the pores. Acid based serums also offer a form of antibacterial effect.
Regardless of your age, you should be using a serum regularly. Younger skin will benefit more from the serums, as they protect the skin and work to improve some sun damage.
If you have more mature skin, serums alone can be sometime a bit irritating. Look for a serum that will provide some moisture and the results will be wonderful.
Use your serum every morning, after you cleanse and tone. Follow with an application of your daily moisturizer. Keep in mind that brightening serums are used in the evening.
Do not forget your sunscreen everyday!
Most serums will improve your skin in about 3 months, however you will notice your complexion change for the better in just few days.
Have your own mirror will tell you that “you are the fairest of them all.”
Who knew that you don’t need a Prince Charming, just a small bottle of serum, to have you living happily ever after?
The end:)

“IT IS THE EARLY BIRD THAT CATCHES THE WORM”, THE FAMOUS QUOTE PREACHES. I SAY “IT IS THE EARLY BIRD THAT CATCHES THE YOUTHFUL LOOK” THAT WE ALL WANT.
SMOOTH, FIRM AND SPOT FREE COMPLEXION IS DESIRED BY US ALL.
WHILE THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH HAS NOT BEEN DISCOVERED, PREVENTION IS THE KEY TO YOUNGER LOOKING SKIN.
ACCORDING TO THE EXPERTS AT THE NEW BEAUTY MAGAZINE,IT IS NEVER TOO EARLY TO START PREVENTING AND CORRECTING THE FIRST SIGNS OF AGING.
READ ON TO FIND WHAT YOU CAN DO TODAY TO LOOK YOUNGER TOMORROW.
AS EARLY AS YOUR MID 20S AND INTO YOUR 30S YOU MAY START TO NOTICE THE VERY FIRST SIGNS OF AGING, WHICH ARE USUALLY SUBTLE BUT STILL BOTHERSOME. WHAT WAS ONCE A SMOOTH COMPLEXION MAY NOW BE HOME TO SMALL SUN SPOTS, CORW’S-FEET, DARK UNDER-EYE CIRCLES AND UNEVEN TEXTURE. INSTEAD OF LETTING THE SIGNS OF AGING GET THE BEST OF YOU, TAKE MATTERS INTO YOUR OWN HANDS AND CORRECT THE CHANGES THAT YOU ARE SEEING-YOU MAY EVEN BE ABLE TO PREVENT THEM FROM PROGRESSING AS YOU GET OLDER WITH THE PROPER PLAN OF ATTACK.
1. UNDER-EYE BAGS, DARKNESS AND PUFFINESS-WITH AGE, THE AREA UNDER THE EYES BECOMES DARK AND PUFFY. MAKEUP CAN HELP CAMOUFLAGE BAGS AND CIRCLES, BUT INJECTABLES AND PROPER SKIN CARE CAN REVERSE THEM.
THE EYES ARE USUALLY THE FIRST AREA OF THE FACE TO AGE, AND CROW’S –FEET CAN DEVELOP AS EARLY AS YOUR LATE 20S. THESE SMALL, DEEPLY INDENTED LINES START AT THE OUTER CORNER OF THE EYE AND EXTEND OUTWARD AND CAN CAUSE YOU TO LOOK OLDER THAN YOU REALLY ARE. PREVENTION IS KEY: MAKE SURE TO LIMIT SUN EXPOSURE AND WEAR SUNGLASSES AND SUNSCREEN EVERYDAY.
IN YOUR EARLY 20S, YOU SHOULD USE BOTOX(R) AS A WAY TO PREVENT CROW’S-FEET AND SOFTEN ANY LINES. IT’S FANTASTIC FOR PREVENTING WRINKLES FROM EXPRESSIONS, BUT NOT THOSE FROM SUN DAMAGE.
REGULAR USE OF HIGHLY MOISTURIZING EYE CREAM HELPS KEEP THE DELICATE EYE AREA SUPPLE AND LESS PRONE TO LINES AND WRINKLES.
DARK CIRCLES AND UNDER-EYE BAGS DEVELOP WHEN THE FAT BENEATH THE LOWER LIDS PROTRUDES AND THE MUSCLE BECOMES LOOSE. WHEN YOU ADD IN EXCESSIVE DRINKING, SUN EXPOSURE, LACK OF SLEEP AND EATING TOO MUCH SALT, IT CAN ONLY MAKE MATTERS WORSE. WHETHER THE RESULT OF GENETICS, A MEDICAL CONDITION OR ALLERGIES, THE BEST WAY TO COMBAT DARK CIRCLES AND UNDER-EYE BAGS IS BY REPLACING LOST VOLUME AND USING PRODUCTS THAT REDUCE PIGMENTATION.
PATIENTS WITH DARK CIRCLES AND BAGS, FOR WHICH SURGERY IS NOT AN OPTION, THE BEST MODE OF TREATMENT IS WITH HYALURONIC ACID FILLERS, WHICH FILL IN HOLLOWS TO GIVE THE ILLUSION OF FEWER BAGS. THERE WILL BE NO SHADOWS, AND THE DARK PIGMENTATION WILL BE DIMINISHED.
CHEMICAL PEELS, IPL OR FRACTIONAL LASER CAN ALSO HELP TIGHTEN THE UNDER-EYE AREA.
2. ONCE A WRINKLE HAS MADE EVEN THE FAINTEST EMERGENCE ON YOUR SKIN, IT’S HARDER TO GET RID OF THAN IF IT WERE TREATED WHILE IT WAS FORMING. BOTOX(R) CAN BE USED TO INHIBIT WRINKLES FROM OCCURING, ESPECIALLY IN WRINKLE-PRONE AREAS, LIKE AROUND YOUR EYES AND FOREHEAD. IT’S NEVER TOO EARLY TO START TAKING PREVENTATIVE MEASURES.
KNOWN AS NASOLABIAL FOLDS, THESE UNPLEASANT LINES THAT STRETCH FROM THE NOSE TO THE MOUTH, RESULT WHEN FAT IS LOST FROM THE AREA AROUND THE MOUTH. ALTHOUGH NASOLABIAL FOLDS DON’T TEND TO BECOME REALLY DRAMATIC UNTIL YOU 40S OR EVEN LATER, SOME WOMEN ARE AFFECTED BY THEM AS EARLY AS THEIR 30S. WITH AGE COMES CHANGES IN FACIAL FAT, AND THIS LOSS OF VOLUME RESULTS IN NASOLABIAL FOLDS. THE MORE FAT THAT’S LOST, THE MORE PROMINENT THEY ARE. HYLAURONIC ACID FILLERS LIKE JUVEDERM OR RESTYLANE(TM) ARE BEST FOR FILLING IN THESE LINES, ESPECIALLY AMONG WOMEN IN THEIR LATE 20S AND EARLY 30S. FOR PATIENTS THAT COMPLAIN OF SOMEWHAT DEEPER FOLDS, FILLER IS INJECTED IN THE CHEEKS TOO, TO LIFT THE FOLD.
3. SUN SPOTS, WHICH ARE MORE COMMON ON THE LEFT SIDE, OR DRIVING SIDE, OF THE FACE, ARE CAUSED BY DAMAGE INCURRED FROM YEARS SPENT IN THE SUN-THE AMOUNT OF SUN YOUR SKIN WAS EXPOSED TO IS PROBABLY SHOWING UP NOW. IT SEEMS LIKE THE SUN SPOTS MAY APPEAR ALL OF A SUDDEN, BUT IT TAKES YEARS FOR THE DAMAGE TO ACCUMULATE. IF NOT ADDRESSED, THEY MAY TURN DARKER AND MAY ONE DAY BE ACCOMPANIED BY CREPEY SKIN.
WHEN TREATING SUN SPOTS, THE FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE IS ALMOST ALWAYS HYDROQUINONE, WHICH STOPS THE PRODUCTION OF PIGMENT IN ITS TRACKS. HYDROQUINONE-FREE GELS LIKE KOJIC ACID OR VITAMIN C ARE OPTIONS, TOO. THEY HELP DISPERSE MELANIN EVENLY. IF YOUR SKIN IS STILL DISCOLORED, YOU MAY CHOOSE TO USE A LIGHT LASER, LIKE IPL, OR FRACTIONAL LASER FOR MORE SEVERE SPOTS.
THE WAY YOU CHOOSE TO CARE FOR YOUR SKIN PLAYS A ROLE IN HOW QUICKLY YOU WILL AGE, BUT THERES’S ONE AGING FACTOR THAT THERE’S NO CONTROLLING: YOUR GENES. YOUR GENES DICTATE AT WHAT RATE YOU WILL AGE AND WHAT AREAS OF THE FACE WILL AGE FIRST AND BE MOST AFFECTED. EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NOTHING CURRENTLY AVAILABLE THAT CAN BE DONE TO GENETICALLY ALTER HOW YOU WILL AGE, THERE ARE MANY-SKIN-CARE PRODUCTS THAT PURPORTEDLY ANALYZE YOUR DNA AND USE THAT INFORMATION TO PRESCRIBE A SOLUTION TO STAVE OFF THE SIGNS OF AGING. KEEP IN MIND THAT MOST OF US TEND TO AGE SIMILARLY TO OUR PARENTS.
WHETHER YOU HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH GREAT GENES OR NOT, TODAY YOU CAN PREVENT WHAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE ON YOUR FACE TOMORROW. LITTLE EXTRA EFFORT AND THOUGHT IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR YOUTH AND BEAUTY.

If you are an owner of a super fit and slim body with zero excess fat: do not read this blog. I am not talking to you.
I would like to share few thoughts, only with the owners of few extra pounds, love handles and some “junk-in-the-trunk.”
I am talking to the proud owners of a “beer belly.” I am talking to you!
The average American men and women are living their lives in less than perfect bodies. When we look in the mirror we do not resemble the super models in fashion magazines.
Our men seldom have the body of Hugh Jackman, and strike an uncanny resemblance to Gerard Butler.
Looking in the mirror, we see the curves of Jessica Simpson not Meghan Fox.
We look good. We want to look great.
If you are like me, and pretty much the rest of New York, you eat healthy and exercise on regular basis. You have made smart food choices and tried at least a dozen different fitness programs and classes.
Yet, no matter what you do, there are parts of you that are just “too much of you.”
These stubborn fatty areas that just refuse to go away.
It can be your stomach, your thighs or your butt.
They are with you when you are happy, and with you when you are sad. You have them on your Prom Day and your Wedding Day.
Your husband may leave you, so can your wife but you will have your gutt for life.
Until Now.
The time has come to introduce you to the newest and most advanced body slimming procedure-Zerona(R).
Zerona (R) is the first non-invasive body slimming procedure, that gives you 3 to 9 inch loss, with zero pain, zero surgery and zero downtime.
How does it work?
Through clinical studies it has been demonstrated that the Zerona® low level laser stimulates the fat cell to emulsify (liquefy) the fat within the cell. Then the liquefied fat moves from inside the cell through a temporary pore formed in the cell membrane to outside the cell where it is in the interstitial space until absorbed by the lymphatic system. This results in millions of fat cells becoming smaller so inches are reduced off the waist, hips and thighs. The fat cells are not injured in any way by this process.
What can I expect at my appointments?
You can expect 40 minutes to relax, read or do absolutely nothing. The Zerona® treatment is completely painless. There is no heat or any sensation whatsoever while being treated. Each treatment you will be met by your technician who will position the laser at the desired areas of the body, he/she will step out for 20 minutes while the front of your body is treated and then will return to reset for the backside of your body for an additional 20 minutes. After you are done you can get back to your normal activities immediately with absolutely no downtime, nor pain, swelling or any discomfort. This is a symptom–free process except for losing unwanted inches.
What happens if I miss an appointment?
It is not recommended that you miss an appointment. Prior to starting the Zerona® treatment, it is important that you are committed to the recommended lifestyle protocol which includes at least 6 treatments, every other day for 40 minutes and not to exceed 72 hours between treatments. If more than 72 hours intervenes, some of the fat may be uptaken by the fat cells again.
How is it different from liposuction?
Liposuction is an invasive procedure that removes the entire area of fat cells from deposits beneath the skin using a hollow stainless steel tube (called a cannula) with the assistance of a powerful vacuum. Liposuction can be accomplished either with the use of general anesthesia, or with IV sedation, or totally by local anesthesia. In contrast, the Zerona® treatment is a 100% non-invasive that uses a low level laser applied externally to stimulate the fat cell and emulsify and release fat. There is no use of anesthesia, nor any pain, gels, creams, numbing agents, needles and no downtime.
How is it different from other “non-invasive” body slimming techniques?
The Zerona® laser is the only completely safe and effective non-invasive treatment for body slimming on the market today. There is no possibility of injury. No technician will be pushing on you or using any device against your body. You simply lay beneath the Zerona® lights.
Is there any downtime?
Absolutely ZERO downtime. During the treatment you will feel no discomfort, no anesthesia will be used and you can assume normal activities immediately following each treatment.
Are there any limitations to what I can do if I’m using Zerona®?
No. During the 2 week treatment period you can continue your normal activities. It is strongly recommended that you commit to and follow the treatment protocol: stay hydrated (8-10 glasses of water a day), continue to eat healthy and exercise (walk at least 30 minutes a day) and abstain from alcohol and caffeine. Alcohol and caffeine interfere with the lymphatic process to remove fat and metabolize it which can decrease your results.
What areas of the body can I use Zerona® on?
The Zerona® treatment can be used effectively on essentially every part of the body where localized fat deposits exist that are resistant to diet and exercise. Most patients start with treating the waist, hips and thighs which can all be targeted in 1 treatment. Other areas include upper arms, bra-line fat, inner knees, back fat and buttocks.
Is it covered by insurance?
No, Zerona® treatments are considered elective and are not covered by insurance.
Is it safe?
Yes, there is no risk involved in using the Zerona® low-level laser therapy and it is considered a safe alternative to invasive procedures such as tumescent liposuction and lipodissolve and other non-invasive devices like the Accent, VelaShape, and Thermage ,which rely on heating the tissue and can cause discomfort. None of these have the proven data showing how fat cell size is reduced like the Zerona®. The Zerona® treatment is 100% non-invasive and causes no bruising, scaring and zero downtime. During the treatment you will feel no discomfort, no anesthesia will be used and you can assume normal activities immediately following each treatment.
Is it safe if I have a medical condition such as diabetes?
Yes, with two exceptions. If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, Zerona® should not be used. Additionally, if you have a pacemaker, this treatment may not be for you. There are no known detrimental risks but potential unknown risks may exist. Zerona® may not be as effective on patients with diabetes or thyroid disorders where the metabolic system is potentially impaired.
Are there any side effects?
No. The treatment process is completely non-invasive and there are absolutely no side effects beyond loss of inches and fat.
How long has the Zerona® laser been used?
The Zerona® has been used in studies since 2008 and has been used by physicians in practice since early 2009. The same Erchonia® Low Level Laser technology has been used to safely assist with tumescent liposuction since 2001 as it is proven to cause fat to be released from fat cells immediately prior to liposuction surgery. From this important experience, the Zerona® technique was developed for effective, totally non-invasive body slimming.
Is it effective?
Yes, with the Zerona® treatment and by following the recommended guidelines for success, you can expect to experience a loss of 3 – 9 inches from your waist, hips and thighs and a reduction in clothes size. Additionally, early patients have noticed an improvement in the appearance of cellulite.
How long do results last?
By maintaining a healthy diet and exercise you can expect long-term results. Zerona® is especially ideal for 2 types of people: those that are already following a healthy diet and lifestyle and want to remove localized pockets of fat or drop body fat % OR those who (delete that) want to use the Zerona® and the recommended lifestyle protocol to “jump start” their slimming efforts as motivation for maintaining a healthier and slimmer lifestyle.
Can I do the procedure multiple times? And how soon after my last treatment can I do a second treatment?
Yes, with additional treatments you can expect to see improved results. You can start an additional series of Zerona® treatments immediately following your last treatment. Speak to your technician about any discount programs that may apply.
How soon after pregnancy can I do it?
It is recommended that you wait until after your last postpartum visit with your doctor (usually 6 weeks after birth) to begin your Zerona® treatment. It is not recommended if you are breast feeding.
How long does it take to begin seeing results?
Some can see results after only a few treatment sessions as their clothes fit more loosely. Many actually see the difference after 4-6 sessions. Family and friends often notice the difference, too, within the 2 week Zerona® program.
Is everyone a good candidate for the Zerona® treatment?
Most are good candidates. Even people who are not overweight can lose inches. Be sure to discuss your health background with your physician and ask any questions about your particular areas of concern.
Knowing all this exciting news now, what are you going to do now?
Are you going to store your fat, or will you melt it?
Isn’t it time to do what’s good for you? Isn’t it time to be good you? Isn’t it time to reveal the sculpted, slimmer, new you?
Reduce 3 to 9 inches today-Reveal your true shape tomorrow!
Yes, I am talking to you!

In the superficial world we live in, surrounded by air brushed perfection, we forget to appreciate our own not-so-perfect beauty.
Looking in the mirror we find countless reasons to hate the way we look.
Where is the love?
In order to wake up from unrealistic and unnecessary expectations, we need to be shaken up by the images of unfortunate victims of evil husbands and vicious chimps. We need to see the faces of women who have to face a life without a face.
Where is the love?
All of a sudden not-so-perfect is just perfect. Your face is beautiful and you found the love.
But for how long will it last?
Each time we look in the mirror will we always wish to see another, “prettier” face?

Blame it on Victoria’s Secret, porn industry or those tiny Brazilian bathing suits for making it impossible for women not to “groom” our bikini lines.
There is not a single woman who does not have to deal with unwanted hair in the bikini area but most of us do not want to talk about it. It is easier to pretend that we were born with a perfect “landing strip” rather than admit that we just suffered through a torturous waxing session with Svetlana, Lucia or Sandy.
Hair removal solutions for the bikini area such as the above mentioned waxing, shaving or creams are time-consuming, painful and a temporary solution to a permanent “hidden” problem.
Laser hair removal is the innovative and most advanced option to give us the freedom of hair free life.
If you are “landscaping” your “v-zone,” than go for the Brazilian Laser Hair Removal.
Traditional Bikini Laser Hair Removal will not be sufficient for your favorite thongs, skimpy bathing suits and those “hot” Friday nights. It only removes the hair that is found on the outside of a bikini underwear line.
Do not fear the “Brazilian.” Traditionally it does mean everything gone, but these days Brazilian Laser Hair Removal gives you the option to create your own individual look. Remove the hair you want gone and keep what you want to keep. Be as conservative or as bold as your little heart desires.
The procedure is safe and gentle.
The skin in the bikini area is sensitive and prone to ingrown hairs and irritation. Waxing and shaving only exasperate this problem. Laser Hair removal will significantly reduce, if not completely eradicate the unwanted bikini hair, giving you a smooth and “bump” free skin.
Feel confidant anytime day or night in silky skin from head to toe.
Brazilian Laser Hair Removal will have you ready for the microscopic Victoria’s Secret lingerie all year-long.*

If you have not been affected by the green movement yet, then you must live under a rock.
If you live in New York City you can’t take a step without being bombarded by messages of keeping the earth green and clean and you body clean with “green” products.
Whether we like it or not our choices are influenced by these messages. We eat only organic foods, use paraben free cosmetics, drive electric cars and use solar panels to heat our homes.
Great! Hopefully our small and earth-friendly decisions will make a big difference in the years to come, allowing us to enjoy natural resources, breathtaking views and the beauty of the fauna and the flora.
Great! Hopefully our complexions are radiant and youthful without unneccessary chemicals and preservatives. “Preserving” and protecting our skin is not only about our looks anymore but our health as well.
Our “natural” lifestyle” begs for a look that is natural. But haven’t you noticed that many of us use the “green” movement to simply look and act careless?
Looking natural does not excuse you from “nurturing” the skin you are in.
Caring for your skin and body is just as important as caring for your organic garden in the back yard.
Organic cosmetics are a great start but do not stop there.
Just because a product is not labeled “organic” does not mean it is filled with chemicals.
Science had advanced so much in the recent years. We can re-create potent natural ingredients in the labs and modify them to be absorbed by our skin’s dermis to deliver all their benefits.
Not all natural ingredients can be absorbed by our skin and most of their benefits are left on the “surface.” What good is that?
Take inspiration from nature and “shed” your old skin, like a snake, with gentle chemical peels to reveal new and smooth complexion.
Nurture you skin with anti-oxidants, like the ones found in IS Clinical Super Serum, to fight off free radicals and keep you wrinkle free and cancer free.
Care for your skin and body like you do for the planet Earth. You are a beautiful part of it!

Jim Harrison once said that beauty is “the injustice of the given.”
Prestige that is associated with being considered attractive, is one of the reasons why the subject of beauty is continually stirring emotions and causing debates.
Being considered beautiful is an advantage in every aspects of life. It is definitely an advantage in the sex department. Desirable, delicate, experienced and willing to experiment are just some of the characteristics associated with attractive men and women.
Are the above statements true or a myth?
It turns out that beautiful men and women are more sexually experienced and more adventurous in the bedroom. According to studies, beautiful men more frequently give their partners orgasms. Intriguing right?
Fortunately for the rest of folk, those blessed by mother nature with beauty do not have the monopoly when it comes to mastering the art of love making. They do however, have more opportunities and really effortless ability to stir the imaginations of their partners.
Beauty is the best asset-you can exchange it for prestige, money, happiness, sex and even love.
Because so much in life is dependent on outside appearance, it is an asset that is either perfectly utilized or wasted.
It will be a shame to allow for such a great gift to go to waste. Esthetic medicine with a multitude of cosmetic procedures, offers a complete and complex care for the face and body, for both men and women. Improving the appearance, it also positively impacts the quality of sex life.
Cosmetic procedures that give the best results and provide “instant gratification” are: Botox(R), injectable fillers (both hyaluronic acid and calcium based), chemical peels, affirm tightening treatments and laser vein removal.
Esthetic medicine the fastest growing branch of medicine, constantly introduces innovative procedures and products that will allow us to hold on to our beauty, our health and our satisfying sex life.
Follow the spirit of the times, do not wait for beauty to happen. Create it with the help of cosmetic procedures.
New York is a jungle and only the beautiful survive. Use all the available “weapons” to win the “fight!”
